Shobha informs Gayatri Devi that she is observing a fast for Goddess Sheetladevi. When Vijaylaxmi tells her that mothers observe this fast for their children, Shobha replies that she is keeping it for her stepmother Indumati. Meanwhile, Rudrabhadra's men kidnap Loma. Bhairavnath informs her that she will become a `devdasi'. Loma tells them that she is betrothed and escapes when she hears her friend Birju's voice. Bhairavnath does not stop her but he says that escaping will not change her destiny. At the Bharuch palace, Indumati promises Bhanuman that if any harm befalls her, then she would destroy Bhanuman too! Meanwhile, Shobha feels sad seeing Vijaylaxmi feed Bheemdev. She goes to fetch Indumati but when she sees Shobha inside her chamber, she shouts at her. Indumati is all set to eat when Vijaylaxmi and Bheemdev enter the chamber, and are upset to see Shobha hurt. They take Shobha away and the formalities of ending the fast begin. Gayatri Devi prays to Goddess Sheetladevi to give her a child so that she can also fast someday. Seeing Vijaylaxmi feed Bheemdev, Shobha remembers her deceased mother. She goes to the portrait of her deceased mother and pretends to eat from her hands. Bheemdev who watches this is pained.
